It seems that nursing a baby on a fixed schedule is perhaps not the best technique to use to feed a baby. Indeed, when a group of babies who were  nursed at fixed times was compared to a group that was nursed on a random schedule, it was found that the second group had a higher IQ test score. In fact, it would seem that a baby who is nursed on a fixed schedule has less chance of developing its capacity to listen to its own needs. On the other hand, the babies who cry to be nursed seem to better develop this capacity.
